another, other และ others ที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นสรรพนาม มีหลักการใช้ดังนี้

another = อีกอันหนึ่ง            ใช้กับ V.เอกพจน์
others = อื่นๆ             ใช้กับ V.พหูพจน์
the other = อีกอันหนึ่ง (ที่เหลือ)    ใช้กับ V.เอกพจน์
the others = อื่นๆ (ที่เหลือ)         ใช้กับ V.พหูพจน์

My phone was broken. I need to buy another.
(โทรศัพท์ฉันพังแล้ว ฉันต้องซื้อเครื่องใหม่)

I don’t like this room. I’m going to ask for another.
(ฉันไม่ชอบห้องนี้ ฉันว่าจะไปขอห้องใหม่)

There are many kind of food in this shop. Some items are fruits, others are cake and bread.
