The farmer and the fox

          A farmer, having a long grudge against a fox for robbing his pultry yard, caught him at last and being determined to take a fitting revenge, tied some towels soaked in oil to his tail, and set it on fire.  The fox by a strange chance rushed straight into the farmer’s fields, where the ripe wheat was waiting to be harvested. The dry stalks immediately burst into flame and the whole crop was destroyed.

ชาวนากับสุนัขจิ้งจอก

ชาวนาคนหนึ่งอารมณ์เสียอยู่เสมอ เพราะสุนัขจิ้งจอกตัวหนึ่งชอบมาขโมยเป็ดไก่ในลานบ้านเอาไปกิน ในที่สุดเขาก็จับมันได้ แบะตัดสินใจที่จะแก้แค้นให้สาสม เขาผูกเศษผ้าขนหนูซึ่งชุบน้ำมันจนโชกเข้าที่หางของมันและก็จุดไฟขึ้น สุนัขจิ้งจอกหาทางหนีไฟได้โดยวิ่งตรงไปยังท้องนา ซึ่งมีข้าวสาบีเหลืองอร่ามคอยการเก็บเกี่ยวอยู่ กอข้าวแห้ง ๆ ติดไฟขึ้นทันที และพืชพันธ์ทั้งหมดก็ถูกทำลายจนหมดสิ้น
