Instructions คือ คำแนะนำการใช้ เป็นข้อมูลที่อธิบายถึงวิธีการใช้งานสินค้าต่างๆ เช่น ฉลากยา เครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้า และรวมไปถึงขั้นตอนการใช้บริการต่างๆ เช่น การซื้อตั๋ว การจอดรถ เป็นต้น ข้อความที่เป็น instruction นั้นมีลักษณะเด่นคือ มักเป็นประโยคคำสั่งให้ทำสิ่งต่างๆ ห้ามทำบางสิ่งบางอย่าง หรือคำเตือนที่ต้องระวัง การทำโจทย์ลักษณะนี้นักเรียนจึงต้องอ่านรายละเอียดให้ครบถ้วน แล้วค่อยๆ ตัดตัวเลือกที่กล่าวผิดหรือไม่ได้ถูกกล่าวถึงออก

ตัวอย่างการอ่านฉลากยา (Label)

ข้อ 1. ผู้ป่วยต้องใช้ยานี้อย่างไร จากฉลากยาระบุว่า Take ONE tablet THREE times a day แปลว่า ทานครั้งละ 1 เม็ด วันละ 3 ครั้ง และประโยคที่ว่า Take with or after food แปลว่า ทานพร้อมอาหารหรือหลังอาหาร พิจารณาตัวเลือก
