ตัวอย่างสำนวนการบอกเส้นทาง

Go straight.                    ตรงไป

Go straight ahead.                ตรงไปเลย

Carry straight on.                ตรงไปเรื่อยๆ

Go along this street.                เดินไปตามถนนเส้นนี้

Follow this street.                เดินไปตามถนนเส้นนี้

Walk along the road.            เดินเลียบไปตามถนน

Down the street.                ลงไปตามถนน

Cross the road.                ข้ามถนน

Turn right.                    เลี้ยวขวา

Turn left.                    เลี้ยวซ้าย

Turn right/left at the crossroads.        เลี้ยว ขวา/ซ้าย ตรงสี่แยก

Turn right/left at the traffic lights.        เลี้ยว ขวา/ซ้าย ตรงไฟจราจร

Turn right/left at the next corner.        เลี้ยว ขวา/ซ้าย ตรงหัวมุมข้างหน้า

Take the next tuning on the left.        ต่อไปเลี้ยวซ้าย

Walk through the park.            เดินทะลุเข้าไปในสวน

Pass the cafe.                ผ่านร้านคาเฟ่

Short walk.                    เดินไปใกล้ๆ

ขึ้นรถเมล์สาย 14 แล้วลงที่พิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งชาติ

 

ตัวอย่างการบอกตำแหน่งของสถานที่

The bank is just around the next corner.        ธนาคารอยู่ตรงมุมถนนข้างหน้า

The restaurant is on the second floor.        ร้านอาหารอยู่บนชั้นสอง

The office is up those stairs.            ออฟฟิศอยู่ชั้นบน

It’s the next turning on the left.            เลี้ยวซ้ายถัดไปก็จะเจอ

It’s a long way from here to the zoo.        สวนสัตว์อยู่ไกลจากที่นี่

It’s not on this street.                มันไม่ได้อยู่บนถนนสายนี้

 

ในกรณีที่ไม่สามารถบอกทางได้ สามารถใช้สำนวนดังต่อไปนี้ เช่น

    Sorry. I don’t know.                ขอโทษด้วยนะ ฉันก็ไม่รู้

    Sorry. I’m not sure.                ขอโทษด้วยนะ ฉันไม่แน่ใจ

    Sorry. I’m a new comer here.        ขอโทษด้วยนะ ฉันเพิ่งมาใหม่

    Sorry. I’m afraid I can’t.            ขอโทษด้วยนะ ฉันก็ไม่รู้

    You’d better ask somebody else.        ฉันว่าลองถามคนอื่นดีกว่านะ

สถานการณ์ 1

    A:    Could you tell me how to get to the National Museum?

    B:    Go straight on, turn right, the first thing you see on the left that’s it.

        Catch the bus to the National Museum there.

 

    A:    ช่วยบอกหน่อยได้มั้ยคะว่าจะไปพิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งชาติยังไง?

    B:    ตรงไปครับ, เลี้ยวขวา, อาคารแรกที่เห็นคือพิพิธภัณฑ์แห่งชาติครับ

        นั่งรถเมล์ไปจากที่นี่ได้ครับ

 

สถานการณ์ 2

    A:    Excuse me, could you tell me how to get to the railway station?

B:    Yes, Go straight ahead till you come to the traffic lights, 

turn right there and it’s the first turning on the left.

    A:    Thank you very much.

    B:    You’re welcome.

 

    A:    ขอโทษค่ะ, ช่วยบอกทางไปสถานีรถไฟให้หน่อยได้มั้ยคะ?

    B:    ครับ, ตรงไปจนถึงไฟจราจรนะครับ

        เลี้ยวขวาแล้วก็เลี้ยวซ้ายแรกครับ    

    A:    ขอบคุณมากๆ ค่ะ

    B:    ไม่เป็นไรครับ
