การบอกจำนวนและลำดับที่
จำนวนนับ (cardinal number) ได้แก่ one, two, three, four, five etc.
ลำดับที่ (ordinal number) ได้แก่ first, second, third, fourth, fifth etc.
*ข้อสังเกตเกี่ยวกับการสะกดตัวเลขและลำดับที่
1. จำนวนที่ลงท้ายด้วย ~t อยู่แล้ว เมื่อเป็นลำดับที่ให้เติมแค่ ~h เช่น
eight --- > eighth
2. จำนวนที่ลงท้ายด้วย ~e เมื่อเป็นลำดับที่ให้ตัด ~e ออก แล้วเติม ~th เช่น
nine --- > ninth
3. จำนวนที่ลงท้ายด้วย ~ve เมื่อเป็นลำดับที่ให้เปลี่ยน ~ve เป็น f แล้วเติม ~th เช่น
five --- > fifth
twelve --- > twelfth
4. จำนวนที่ลงท้ายด้วย ~y เมื่อเป็นลำดับที่ให้เปลี่ยน ~y เป็น ie แล้วเติม ~th เช่น
twenty --- > twentieth
thirty --- > thirtieth
5. เลข 4 เมื่อเป็นหลักหน่วยคือ four แต่ 40 จะเป็น forty

การบอกหมายเลขโทรศัพท์
1. อ่านตัวเลขทีละตัว หมายเลขศูนย์ให้อ่านว่า oh หรือ zero ก็ได้
2. หมายเลขที่ซ้ำกัน อ่านทีละตัวหรืออ่านเป็น double ก็ได้
3. ถ้ามีรหัสต่อภายใน ext. อ่านว่า extension แล้วตามด้วยหมายเลข
